* In April 29, 1992Rodney king had been beaten and put on trial for the 4 white officers who beat him.
*In 1986, KDAY made an anti gang radio show with Run DMC and Barry White and they made a “Day of Peace in that November.
*a kid named Aqeela and his gang had enemies and one day they were relaxing and Aqeela saw his best friends get show in to head.

*if this book is about the history of music I don’t get why is it still talking about gangs and peace?
*what does division of races and peoples races going against each other have do to with how music came about?
*if people know gangs are dangerous why do you have to wait till you or some one you know gets hurt or killed to leave the crew?

2literary terms
*imagery- I could picture a couple of kids not expecting for other kids to go and get guns and shoot at them. Like when Aqeela saw his best friend get shot.
*stage direction- for that part I could see the kids sitting down near the part in the front and the kids with the weapons in back and Aqeelas best friend kind of in the middle that’s why he got hit first.
